Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Michigan seeks a Certified Nursing Assistant for the Hospice-Eastern Upper Peninsula department. You will perform daily patient care activities under RN supervision, maintain a safe and caring environment, and respect diverse patient needs and preferences.

The role requires a CNA and BLS certification within the first week, along with a valid Michigan driver’s license and insurance. Schedule is full-time Days, with a 80-hour biweekly expectation and common healthcare

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• State Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
• BLS certification within first week of hire.
• Valid Michigan driver's license with proof of auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Performs delegated patient care interventions to support treatment goals.
• Delivers compassionate support to patients and families.
• Assists with activities of daily living and personal hygiene.
• Maintains compliance with HIPAA, OSHA and health care policies.
• Keeps a safe, clean environment and follows infection-control procedures.

Position Summary:

Under the direct supervision of a Nurse, contributes to the delivery of patient-centered care through: Performance of selected day-to-day patient care activities. Maintenance of an environment that is functionally and aesthetically conducive to patient well-being. Demonstrates unit/area-designated competencies. Interacts with patients considering their developmental, age-specific, and cultural spiritual preferences.

Responsibilities:

• Performs specific patient care interventions as delegated by the RN in effort to identify/attain treatment goals.
• Delivers compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.
• Provides physical support for patients with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, showering, feeding, dressing, getting out of bed, using the toilet, walking, standing or exercising.
• Ensures compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment and protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control, hazardous waste and other policies and protocols.
• Performs other related job duties as requested.
  

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• State Certified Nursing Assistant.
• BLS certification required within first week of hire
• Valid Michigan Driver's License, proof of valid auto insurance, and maintain a driving record in accordance with McLaren's corporate driving policy and eligibility guidelines
  

Preferred:

• six months of experience with a variety of patients
