Job summary

McLaren Health in Michigan is seeking a State Certified Nursing Assistant for hospice care in the Eastern Upper Peninsula. Under RN supervision, you will perform day-to-day patient care activities, maintain a safe, compassionate environment, and support patients according to their age and cultural needs.

Required: high school diploma, CNA, BLS within first week, valid Michigan driver's license and auto insurance. Preferred: six months of experience with a variety of patients.

• BLS certification within first week of hire.
• Valid Michigan driver’s license with proof of auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient care interventions as delegated by the RN.

Position Summary:
Under the direct supervision of a Nurse, contributes to the delivery of patient-centered care through: Performance of selected day-to-day patient care activities. Maintenance of an environment that is functionally and aesthetically conducive to patient well-being. Demonstrates unit/area-designated competencies. Interacts with patients considering their developmental, age-specific, and cultural spiritual preferences.

Responsibilities:

1. Performs specific patient care interventions as delegated by the RN in effort to identify/attain treatment goals.
2. Delivers compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.
3. Provides physical support for patients with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, showering, feeding, dressing, getting out of bed, using the toilet, walking, standing or exercising.
4. Ensures compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
5. Maintains safe and clean working environment and protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control, hazardous waste and other policies and protocols.
6. Performs other related job duties as requested.

Required:

• State Certified Nursing Assistant.

• Valid Michigan Driver's License, proof of valid auto insurance, and maintain a driving record in accordance with McLaren's corporate driving policy and eligibility guidelines
