Job summary

McLaren Health Care is seeking a per diem home health aide to provide personal and homemaking services to ill and elderly patients in their homes under supervision.

Responsibilities include bathing, grooming, vital signs, transfers, and light housekeeping, with telehealth support as needed. Must have a Michigan CNA license and BLS within the first week of hire; six months of experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in Michigan.
• BLS certification to be completed within the first week of hire.
• Six months of experience with a variety of patients is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care including bathing, grooming, and toileting.
• Take and record daily vital signs and report any out-of-range values.
• Assist with positioning/turning, transfers, catheter care, and ROM exercises.
• Light housekeeping and meal preparation.
• Report unusual symptoms to the RN promptly.
• Support telehealth tasks (equipment cleaning/maintenance, setups).
• Perform other related duties as required.

Position Summary

Under direct supervision, provides personal and homemaking services to ill, convalescing, elderly, and disabled persons in the patients' home.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Provides personal care of a patient, including bathing, grooming/hygiene, and toileting.
• Takes and records daily vital signs. Reports all vital signs that are outside the normal range.
• Assists patients with positioning/turning, transfers, catheter care, and range of motion exercises.
• Light housekeeping and food preparation.
• Recognizes and reports any unusual, untoward, or new symptoms/changes to the RN.
• May perform functions to support the telehealth program (uninstalls, equipment cleaning and maintenance, installations/setups).
• Performs other related duties as required and directed.

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• State of Michigan CNA Certification.
• Valid driver’s license, proof of valid auto insurance, and maintain a driving record in accordance with McLaren’s corporate driving policy and eligibility guidelines
• BLS certification required within first week of hire.

Preferred

• Six months of experience with a variety of patients.
