Job summary

University of Utah Health Hospital in Salt Lake City seeks a patient care staff member to work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will assist with patient care, participate in care planning, and educate patients and families about post-discharge care.

After passing nursing boards and obtaining an RN license in Utah, you may be eligible for promotion to Clinical Nurse. The role requires adapting to rotating schedules, including nights and weekends, to support a 24/7 health system.

Qualifications

• Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Temporary RN Apprentice license in Utah or Temporary Graduate Nurse license in Utah required.
• Additional license requirements as determined by the hiring department.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and re-evaluate interventions under the supervision of a registered nurse.
• Formulate care plans and document nursing processes.
• Educate patients and families about post-discharge care.
• Maintain current knowledge of advances in nursing care through ongoing education.
• Support activities of daily living (ADL) and maintain a safe patient environment.
• Perform unit-specific duties and accept delegated tasks within training and certification.
