Job summary
Mountain View Hospital is seeking a Nurse Apprentice for Med Surg on a part-time basis to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care under supervision.
You will assist the nursing staff in providing patient care, maintaining a safe environment, and handling specimens with proper labeling. Utah Nurse Apprentice license and enrollment in the final nursing semester are required; prior CNA or Unit Secretary experience is a plus; BLS certification is expected.
Qualifications
- State of Utah Nurse Apprentice license.
- Must be starting the last semester of nursing school to obtain a nurse apprentice license.
- Previous CNA or Unit Secretary experience preferred.
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification.
Responsibilities
- Assist the nursing staff in providing patient care according to skills/training and department needs.
- Maintain a clean, well-organized, and safe patient care environment.
- Obtain or assist in collection of specimens for diagnostic tests and ensure accurate labeling and timely transfer.
- Follow patient and employee safety/security policies, hand hygiene, universal precautions, PPE, and isolation procedures.
- Perform clerical work as needed (charts, filing, answering phones, relaying messages).
