Qualifications

• Earned doctorate in nursing from an accredited college or university.
• Master's degree preparation in nursing.
• License to practice professional nursing in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
• National certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist.
• Academic appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in a collegiate nursing program or equivalent experience.
• Evidence of progressive leadership and academic responsibilities.
• Evidence of effective teaching.
• Demonstrated scholarly productivity.

Responsibilities

• Ensures congruence between the mission of the College and University and the educational goals of the nurse anesthesia program.
• Ensures congruence with standards established by accrediting and certifying bodies.
• Monitors accrediting agency policies to maintain compliance.
• Collaborates with academic leadership in curriculum planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Oversees budget planning to ensure resources and faculty support.
• Administers anesthesia one day per week to maintain clinical expertise and participates in clinical instruction.
• Coordinates admissions, selection and planning meetings for program effectiveness.
• Tracks clinical placements and maintains program data and reports.
