Job summary

Jefferson is seeking an Assistant Professor for the Nurse Anesthesia Program in Norristown, PA. This 10 hour/week position leads curriculum planning, implementation, and evaluation across classroom, lab/simulation, and clinical settings, aligning with accreditation and nursing education standards.

The role partners with the Program Director and faculty to advance scholarly activity and contribute to program development, with involvement in College committees and professional organizations.

Qualifications

• Earned doctorate in nursing or an appropriate discipline is required.
• RN licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is required.
• National CRNA certification is required or desirable.
• Evidence of continuing education in nursing or anesthesia is expected.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with Program Administrator and nurse anesthesia faculty to ensure a curriculum that is consistent with the standards and educational requirements.
• Organizes the curriculum to ensure a logical sequence of teaching and learning and maintains student and faculty records.
• Administers anesthesia one day per week to maintain clinical expertise and participates in clinical instruction for students at affiliated hospital(s).
• Participates in admissions recruitment and serves on the nurse anesthesia admissions/selection committee.
• Communicates effectively with students, course faculty, and staff; supports a diverse student body; mentors faculty.

Education

Earned doctorate in nursing or an appropriate discipline

RN licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

National CRNA certification

Evidence of continuing education
