Advocate Health is seeking a part-time Nurse Aide to support telemetry/progressive care units. The role includes assisting with daily living activities, vital signs, hygiene, and patient safety, with weekend 12-hour shifts and 24 hours per week.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, Nurse Aide Registry listing (Aide I or II) and BLS certification. The unit uses standard clinical equipment and emphasizes PHI privacy and patient-centred care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current listing with the DFS Nurse Aide Registry as a Nurse Aide I or with the applicable state Board of Nursing as a Nurse Aide II.
• BLS required per policy guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Supports patients/residents with activities of daily living.
• Assists patients/residents with personal hygiene.
• Takes vital signs and height/weight measurements.
• Feeds and ambulates patients/residents according to procedures.
• Maintains patient/resident rooms in a clean and orderly condition.
• Observes and reports changes in patient/resident conditions.
• Orients patients/families to the unit and instructs on safety measures.
• Assists with clerical work such as answering phones, data entry and maintaining medical records.
• Maintains stock supply items in inventory management.
• Performs Nurse Aide I/II tasks as per state requirements.
• Performs 12-Lead ECG and routine venipuncture with appropriate training.
