Job summary

East Hawaii Region of Hawaii Health Systems Corporation (HHSC) is seeking a Nurse Aide to support patient care across shifts, including vital signs, mobility assistance, and basic clinical tasks under nursing supervision.

Applicants must meet entry-level qualifications, obtain Basic Life Support within six months, and demonstrate teamwork, infection control, and respectful communication with patients and families.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of personal hygiene and bodily care.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand simple sentences in English; follow oral and written instructions precisely; work well with others.

Responsibilities

• Accurately measure and record patient intake/output, vital signs, height and weight; report abnormal changes.
• Assist with specimen collection and administer enemas under nurse supervision.
• Document patient care activities and observe changes per guidelines.
• Safely position, lift, transfer and assist patients with mobility and ROM.
• Support patient care logistics by transporting patients and making beds.
• Perform routine treatments as directed by licensed nursing staff.
• Maintain a safe, clean, well-stocked environment following infection control policies.
