Job summary

East Hawaii Health Systems Corporation’s East Hawaii Region in Hilo seeks compassionate nursing aides to join the clinic and hospital care team.

You’ll take and record intake/output, monitor vitals, assist with specimen collection, document care, and help with mobility and daily activities under nurse supervision.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English and follow instructions precisely.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
• Nurse aide entry level requires basic personal care skills and respect towards patients with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Accurately record patient intake/output and vital signs.
• Assist with specimen collection and administer enemas under supervision.
• Document patient care activities and observations.
• Position, lift, transfer, and assist with mobility using equipment.
• Transport patients by gurney or wheelchair; support care logistics.
• Perform routine treatments as directed by licensed staff.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control policies.
