Job summary

East Hawaii Region HHSC is seeking a Medical Assistant to support outpatient care across East Hawai'i. You’ll assist providers, take vital signs, collect specimens, and help maintain a welcoming environment for patients and families.

The role requires Basic Life Support certification within six months, one year of relevant outpatient experience, and flexibility to work shifts including weekends in a 24/7 operation.

Qualifications

• One year of outpatient care experience.
• Knowledge of basic clinical skills and English literacy.
• BLS certification within six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Accurately measure and record vital signs and patient intake/output.
• Assist with specimen collection and enemas under supervision.
• Document patient care activities and observe changes in condition.
• Safely assist with mobility, transfers, and use of equipment.
• Support logistics by transporting patients and preparing the care area.
• Perform routine treatments as directed by licensed staff.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment with infection control practices.
