Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification (AHA) and first aid training.
• De-escalation training provided on the job.
• Ability to read and write at elementary level to understand plan of care.

Responsibilities

• Deliver basic nursing care to meet patient needs.
• Respond promptly to patient call lights and relay information to nursing staff.
• Observe patients and report changes in condition promptly.
• Assist with activities of daily living and maintain patient environment.
• Prepare room and equipment for procedures; participate in orientation of new employees.
• Perform tasks such as vital signs, baths, skin care, catheter care, and specimen collection per policy.
