Stepping stone to becoming a Certified Nurse Aide!

At American Senior Communities, our Nurse Aide In Training positions help provide person-centered care to our residents while earning their Certified Nurse Aide certification.

ASC's Nurse Aide Training program is a paid job opportunity available to anyone, with no previous work experience required. It includes 30 hours of classroom instruction and 75 hours of on-the-floor clinical training to become a CNA. After completing the program, additional career advancement opportunities are available.

Responsibilities and impact at American Senior Communities:

  • Assist in making resident beds
  • Transport residents in wheelchairs to activities, dining, and therapy
  • Distribute clothing protectors during meals
  • Assist with dining room setup and passing food trays (not feeding)
  • Ensure residents have full ice water pitchers and cups
  • Maintain cleanliness of the unit and equipment
  • Keep resident personal items organized
  • Transport soiled clothing to laundry or repairs
  • Participate in resident activities
  • Report changes in residents' conditions to the nurse
  • Follow privacy laws and PPE protocols
  • Demonstrate teamwork and punctuality
