Des Moines Area Community College is seeking an Adjunct Nurse Aide Instructor to teach HSC172: Nurse Aide for Spring Semester 2027 at the Newton Campus, IA. The instructor will deliver course content, align with competencies, and maintain a safe, respectful classroom environment.

The position requires an active Iowa RN license, 3 years of clinical nursing experience, BCLS, and the ability to work with diverse learners.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse with current Iowa RN license.
• 3 years full-time direct care/clinical nursing experience.
• BCLS certification.
• Applicants must meet DMACC clinical partner requirements (vaccinations, safety, health screenings).

Responsibilities

• Teaches assigned courses in accordance with course competencies and syllabi.
• Develops and/or utilizes varied instructional strategies to meet diverse learning styles.
• Fosters a safe and civil learning environment.
• Informs students about course requirements, evaluation procedures, and attendance policies.
• Monitors, evaluates, and documents student attendance, progress and competency attainment.
