Job summary

Easterseals southeastern Pennsylvania is seeking a School Nurse (RN/LPN) to provide medical support in a preschool program. You will manage student medical care, medications, and documentation in coordination with staff and families.

Qualified candidates hold PA RN or LPN licensure, with CPR/First Aid certification and experience in special needs settings. This full-time role emphasizes safety, communication, and collaborative care within an Approved Private School.

Qualifications

• Pennsylvania RN or LPN license required; Certified School Nurse highly desired.
• Experience in seizure management and tube feeding required.
• Prior work with children with special needs preferred; school-based a plus.
• CPR and First Aid certifications required; excellent documentation and communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical support to preschool-aged children in the Approved Private School.
• Manage student documentation, provide medical care and medication administration.
• Administer first aid and illness assessment, emergency care, feedings, and procedures.
• Coordinate with staff, private duty nurses, and families on medical questions and records.
• Communicate with staff, students and parents to address medical or safety concerns.

Job Description

Essential Duties/Functions:

• Provide medical support to preschool-aged children, some with significant disabilities and medical needs, attending the Approved Private School.
• Manage student documentation, providing appropriate medical care and medication administration, as well as coordinating with staff in the program.
• Administer first aid and illness assessment, emergency care when needed, administering medications, completing feedings and other medically necessary procedures.
• Consult with staff members as well as administration, coordinating with private duty nurses, maintaining medical records, assisting families with medical questions and medical documentation needed, and other duties as needed.
• Communicate with other staff, students and parents to address any medical or safety concerns.

Non-essential Duties/Functions:

• Perform other related administrative tasks on occasion.
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• Pennsylvania RN or LPN license required. Certified School Nurse highly desired.
• Experience in seizure management as well as experience with all aspects of tube feeding required.
• Prior work experience with children with special needs preferred.
• School-based experience a plus.
• Adult, Child, & Infant CPR and First Aid Certifications required.
• Excellent documentation as well as written and verbal communication skills required.
• Complete all clearances as required.
