Job summary

Easterseals Southwestern Pennsylvania is seeking a qualified nurse to provide medical support for preschool‑aged children at the Approved Private School. You will administer medications, manage medical documentation, and coordinate with program staff to ensure safe student care.

Required licensure (PA RN or LPN), CPR/First Aid, and experience with children with special needs; school-based experience is a plus. You’ll join a collaborative team dedicated to inclusive, high‑quality services.

Qualifications

• Pennsylvania RN or LPN license required.
• Experience in seizure management and tube feeding.
• Prior work experience with children with special needs preferred.
• School-based experience a plus.
• Adult, Child & Infant CPR and First Aid Certifications required.
• Excellent documentation and written and verbal communication skills required.
• Complete all clearances as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical support to preschool-aged children at the Approved Private School.
• Manage student medical documentation, provide medical care and medication administration, and coordinate with staff.
• Administer first aid and illness assessments, emergency care when needed, and coordinate with families.

Essential Duties/Functions:

• Provide medical support to preschool-aged children, some with significant disabilities and medical needs, attending the Approved Private School.
• Manage student documentation, providing appropriate medical care and medication administration, as well as coordinating with staff in the program.
• Administer first aid and illness assessment, emergency care when needed, administering medications, completing feedings and other medically necessary procedures.
• Consult with staff members as well as administration, coordinating with private duty nurses, maintaining medical records, assisting families with medical questions and medical documentation needed, and other duties as needed.
• Communicate with other staff, students and parents to address any medical or safety concerns.

Non-essential Duties/Functions:

• Perform other related administrative tasks on occasion.
• All other duties as assigned.
