Job summary

Easterseals Southeastern Pennsylvania is hiring a licensed nurse to provide medical support to preschool children in an Approved Private School setting. You will manage medications, care plans, and coordinate with a multidisciplinary team in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities include documentation, med administration, and collaboration with families and staff to address medical or safety concerns. CPR/First Aid and valid clearances are required.

Qualifications

  • Pennsylvania RN or LPN license required.
  • Experience in seizure management and tube feeding.
  • Experience with children with special needs preferred.
  • School-based experience a plus.
  • CPR and First Aid certification for Adult, Child and Infant required.
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills required.
  • Complete all required clearances.

Job Description

Essential Duties/Functions:

  • Provide medical support to preschool-aged children, some with significant disabilities and medical needs, attending the Approved Private School.
  • Manage student documentation, providing appropriate medical care and medication administration, as well as coordinating with staff in the program.
  • Administer first aid and illness assessment, emergency care when needed, administering medications, completing feedings and other medically necessary procedures.
  • Consult with staff members as well as administration, coordinating with private duty nurses, maintaining medical records, assisting families with medical questions and medical documentation needed, and other duties as needed.
  • Communicate with other staff, students and parents to address any medical or safety concerns.

Non-essential Duties/Functions:

  • Perform other related administrative tasks on occasion.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Pennsylvania RN or LPN license required.
  • Experience in seizure management as well as experience with all aspects of tube feeding required.
  • Prior work experience with children with special needs preferred.
  • School-based experience a plus.
  • Adult, Child, & Infant CPR and First Aid Certifications required.
  • Excellent documentation as well as written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Complete all clearances as required.
