Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking a Welding Engineer to support development, implementation, and troubleshooting of welding-related requirements for nuclear power plant fabrication, erection, and maintenance.

You will report to the Lead Engineer - Welding. The role is hybrid with 2 days on-site at Rock Hill, SC, or Cranberry Township, PA, and involves collaboration across engineering, supply chain, and regulatory teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
• 0+ years of experience as a Welding Engineer or related position.
• Knowledge of welding symbols and ability to read drawings and prints.
• Knowledge of applicable welding standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Lead Engineer - Welding for daily direction.
• Develop welding specifications from contract, design and regulatory requirements.
• Review welding documentation (WPS, PQR, weld maps) for conformance to requirements.
• Support fab-follow activities for AP1000 systems, structures, and components.
• Collaborate with other disciplines to inform weld design and engineering specs.
• Maintain welding consumables and base material specifications per design/regulatory needs.
• Assist in evaluating weld failures and nonconformances.
• Address issues raised by regulatory bodies, clients, and internal customers.
