Job summary

Navarro Research and Engineering is seeking a Waste Management Specialist I in Paducah, KY to perform assigned waste management functions under direct supervision. The role supports waste stream certification, disposition planning, nuclear materials transfer, transportation and related activities.

Collaborate with Waste Engineers, Radiological Control, Environment and Health, Quality Assurance and other project teams to ensure safe, compliant waste handling and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in a related field and one year of related experience.
• US citizenship is required due to government contract requirements.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; attention to detail.
• Experience with DOE nuclear facility safety and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform waste management duties including waste stream certification, disposition planning, nuclear materials transfer, transportation, and related activities.
• Coordinate daily waste activities with FRNP projects and ensure resources for packaging activities.
• Coordinate with Waste Engineers, Radiological Control, Environment, Safety and Health, Quality Assurance, and other organizations involved in waste packaging and disposition.
