Job summary

Navarro Research and Engineering in Paducah, KY is seeking a Waste Management Specialist I to support the FRNP Deactivation Project under direct supervision.

You will coordinate waste streams, packaging, and documentation, work with multiple functional groups, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Applicants should have a BS in a related field and be able to obtain a DOE L or Q clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in a related field plus one year of related experience or equivalent
US citizenship required
Ability to obtain DOE L or Q clearance
Strong attention to detail and safety training

Responsibilities

Perform waste management duties including waste stream certification and disposition planning.
Coordinate daily waste activities with FRNP projects and arrange resources for packaging.
Collaborate with Waste Engineers, Radiological Control, Environment, Safety and Health, QA, and other teams.
Assist in maintaining waste storage areas and documenting disposal records.
Support health physics surveys and dose readings for off-site shipments or landfilling.
Ensure containers are marked, logged, and labeled per site procedures.
Contribute to safe operations and adherence to DOE and site procedures.
