Job summary

SIMCO, LLC invites qualified students to participate in a paid Summer Internship at the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) in Carlsbad, New Mexico. Interns will gain exposure across Engineering, Procurement, Operations, and Safety disciplines and must deliver a final presentation on their experience.

Eligible students must be enrolled full‑time in an accredited college/university, have completed at least 16 credit hours, and be able to obtain a DOE badge for access.

Qualifications

• Must be in a degree program relevant to the project.
• Must be currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited college/university.
• Must have completed at least 16 credit hours toward a degree.
• Must supply a current copy of your college transcript.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without SIMCO visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• Must obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the WIPP Site.
