Be part of the nation’s only repository for the disposal of nuclear waste known as Transuranic (TRU) waste. Salado Isolation Mining Contractors, LLC (SIMCO), managing and operating contractor of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is currently seeking a qualified individual to serve as a Chemical Engineer/Chemist and join our team located in Carlsbad, New Mexico.
Candidate will support the Payloads Engineering group in multiple areas, primarily as a backup for the Payload Engineers (PE). The PE responsibilities include processing of TRUCON code requests from generator site interface to CBFO approval, review of Chemical Compatibility Evaluations (CCEs), update of WDS chemical master list, review of Waste Stream Profile Forms (WSPFs), intersite TRAMPAC preparation, and interface as needed with others in packaging group, CCP, sites, and other WIPP groups. Candidate will be trained and qualified as a PE.

$70,972 to $133,850 per year. Exempt grade level(s) 28-31. The specific salary offered to a candidate will be influenced by a variety of factors, particularly the candidate’s relevant experience and education.
