Job summary

Shields Health is seeking Nuclear Medicine Technologists for per-diem shifts at multiple Massachusetts locations, including Harwich and Sandwich. Weekend availability and shift differentials are offered, with sign-on bonuses up to 20k.

You will operate PET equipment, ensure patient safety, and provide films and data to Radiologists. Requirements include a state license, CPR certification, ARRT/NMTCB registration, and at least 1 year of nuclear medicine experience.

• Proficiency in starting IVs and patient assistance during procedures

Responsibilities

• Operate PET equipment to acquire images and quantify radiopharmaceutical activity.
• Document patient data and case details in the Tech Data Entry system.
• Prepare and issue films to Radiologist; forward data after exams.
• Clean, stock, and restock PET rooms and equipment; assist clerical staff as needed

Harwich and Sandwich locations are available.Job Description:Follow all Shields Health Care Group policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety at all times.Follow rules and regulations established by the NRC, state regulatory agencies, and JCAHO.Inform the patient of all aspects of their exam to their level of understanding.Operate PET equipment to produce images and measure concentrations of Radioactive Isotopes in specific body areas and body products.Performs all hot lab responsibilities.Ensure patient is cleared of all contraindications and hazards.Accurately position the patient and ensure their comfort.Maintain visual and verbal contact with the patient during the exam.Complete all forms pertaining to patient’s exam.Record patient data to Tech Data Entry program.Provide and issue films when appropriate.Forward PET related data to Radiologist upon completion of exam.Refilm cases as time allowsAssist clerical staff as circumstances arise.Clean and re-supply equipment and rooms as needed.Required QualificationsWhat you need:Must possess a state license for the state(s) in which he/she is employed to workMust be certified in CPRMust be registered by the ARRT and/or NMTCB.A minimum of one-year prior nuclear medicine experience is required. Excellent interpersonal skills are required. Must be proficient in starting IVs.Must be able to sit and utilize a computer for extended periods of time. Must be able to assist patients with mobility difficulties.
