Job summary

Kiewit Nuclear Solutions, part of Kiewit, is seeking a mid-level Structural Engineer to join the Design Engineering team in the nuclear sector. You will contribute to design, analysis, and documentation for complex projects, interfacing with multiple disciplines across North America.

Responsibilities include performing analyses with industry tools, developing design criteria, and ensuring QA and regulatory compliance. Travel may be required to project sites and offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering required; Master’s is an asset.
• PE registration in at least one state.
• 5–10 years of structural engineering design experience in nuclear, conventional power or industrial buildings.
• Nuclear sector experience is an asset.
• Proficiency with North American design codes (IBC, ASCE7, ASCE 4, ASCE 43, ACI 318, ACI 349, AISC360, AISC N690).

Responsibilities

• Perform as individual contributor with minimum supervision from senior engineers and managers.
• Perform static and dynamic analyses using engineering software (ANSYS, SAP2000, GT Strudl, Staad Pro, LS-Dyna).
• Design buildings, foundations, equipment platforms, pipe racks, and concrete/steel structures.
• Prepare quantities, cost estimates, and supporting project documentation.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry codes.
• Support QA and project change management processes.
• Interface with designers and other disciplines to review drawings.
• Provide guidance to junior staff on engineering documentation.
