Job summary

Orano TN in Kernersville, NC is seeking a Project Engineer to support design, procurement, fabrication, integration and qualification of spent nuclear fuel storage systems. You will coordinate with subcontractors and customers from the local facility in North Carolina.

The role emphasizes project interface, welding experience is a plus, and collaboration with operations and licensing teams to ensure safe, compliant installations.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or Engineering Technology, plus 0–2 years related experience.
• PE license accepted in lieu of a 4-year degree in applicable states.
• Ability to communicate well with vendors, customers and regulatory authorities.
• Demonstrated quick thinking and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Prepare procurement specifications, functional requirement documents, integration, test and qualification plans for spent nuclear fuel storage and transport systems.
• Oversee fabrication by subcontractors and review fabrication documents to ensure requirements are met.
• Prepare fabrication documents to support fabrication activities at Orano TN facilities.
• Support design efforts for new products to improve fabricability and operability.
• Prepare design changes and non-conformance evaluations and provide technical direction to subcontractors.
• Design non-safety related equipment and visit nuclear facilities to assess new design concerns.
• Support Operations during field operation of storage and transport systems and assist licensing activities.
