Job summary

Constellation is seeking a Nuclear Security Officer to protect the health and welfare of the public by defending the station against radiological sabotage, attack, or theft of special nuclear material. You will maintain a secure perimeter and perform patrols, inspections and access control for employees, contractors and visitors.

The role requires passing extensive training, a medical and background check, a drug and alcohol test, and the ability to work 12-hour shifts, including nights,

Qualifications

• Must meet minimum age and education requirements.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain nuclear unescorted access.
• Must pass background checks, drug and alcohol tests, and training for licensed security at a nuclear site.

Responsibilities

• Maintain qualifications for position.
• Conduct patrols and inspections.
• Monitor access to security areas.
• Perform search activities.
• Respond to threats and contingency events.
• Perform equipment testing.
• Armed security duties to protect nuclear facilities.
• Control access and egress of personnel, materials and vehicles.
• Monitor CCTV and alarm systems.
• Deter unsafe behavior and ensure compliance with NRC requirements.
