Job summary

Constellation in Braceville, IL seeks a Nuclear Security Officer to defend the site against radiological threats and safeguard personnel and assets. You will perform patrols, access control, and incident response in a high-security environment.

Requirements include 21+ years old, High School diploma or GED, ability to obtain nuclear access, and the capacity to pass background, drug, and fitness tests. Shifts are 12 hours, with nights and weekends expected.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have a High School diploma or GED.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain nuclear unescorted access.
• Must meet minimum state requirements to carry a firearm.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Must pass a drug and alcohol test with negative results.
• Must pass extensive background check and verifications.
• Must be able to operate radio or surveillance equipment.
• Must complete nuclear site training and qualification.
• Must be able to work 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Maintain qualifications for position.
• Conduct patrols and inspections.
• Monitor access to security areas.
• Perform search activities.
• Respond to threats and contingency events.
• Perform equipment testing.
• Act as Armed Response Force member for nuclear center protection.
• Conduct armed patrols (interior and/or exterior).
• Control access and egress of personnel, materials and vehicles.
• Monitor CCTV and alarm systems.
• Deter misconduct and safety violations.
• Comply with NRC and Federal/State site access rules.
• Participate in training to complete required qualifications.
• Maintain documentation per federal and corporate guidelines.
• Maintain knowledge of plant to support defensive strategy.
