Job summary

Constellation is seeking an armed Nuclear Security Officer to protect our private energy centers and maintain a secure perimeter. You will conduct patrols, monitor CCTV, and respond to threats in a 12-hour shift environment.

Ideal candidates will meet NRC requirements, pass background and fitness tests, and hold valid credentials for armed security. This role requires strong public interaction skills and strict adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Must obtain and maintain nuclear unescorted access.
• Must meet state requirements to carry a firearm.
• Must have valid driver's license and REAL ID compliant.
• Must pass state and federal training/licensing requirements.
• Must pass drug and alcohol testing per NRC rules.
• Must pass extensive background checks including credit and references.
• Must operate radio/telecommunication equipment and CCTV.
• Must complete required armed security training including fitness and firearms qualification.
• Must pass required psychological and medical assessments.

Responsibilities

• Maintain qualifications for the position.

• Perform search activities.

• Operate and test security equipment.
• Defend nuclear energy centers against intrusion or sabotage.
• Perform armed stationary, foot, or vehicle patrols.
• Control entry and egress of personnel and materials.
• Monitor CCTV and alarm systems.
• Deter misconduct and safety violations.
• Comply with NRC and federal requirements; maintain records.
