Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, CT invites students to join the Nuclear Quality Control - 2027 Summer Internship with an 8-week summer commitment at US facilities.

Interns will support Nuclear Quality Control Engineering, Audit & Assessment, and Data Analytics programs, gaining exposure to inspections, material certification, and problem resolution under senior staff guidance.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• US citizenship is required.
• Must pass a medically supervised drug screen and background check.
• Must be enrolled full-time at a college or university.
• At minimum students must have completed their Freshman year prior to the start of the internship.
• Must be available to work 40 hours per week for a minimum eight (8) consecutive weeks between May 2027 to September 2027.
• Selected candidates will be responsible for housing and reliable transportation for the duration of their intern assignment.
• Pursuing a Bachelor or Masters of Science Degree in Engineering or Analytical Sciences.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring all nuclear work meets quality requirements and standards.
• Certifying Nuclear SUBSAFE material.
• Identifying significant problems.
• Conducting Nuclear Inspections.
• Providing trend analysis services to Operation Organizations.
• Maintaining qualified and proficient inspectors.
• Reviewing Nuclear technical work documents.
• Maintaining Nuclear certification documentation.
• Developing and maintaining Nuclear Quality instructions to support Reactor Plant certification.
