Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Lead Auditor to own the audit program under our nuclear QA framework, aligned with ASME NQA-1. You will plan the annual audit schedule, lead internal and supplier audits with a team of auditors, write reports, and verify corrective actions to closure.

Independence from audited work and strong records are essential. Responsibilities include end-to-end audits, supplier evaluations, and maintaining qualification records.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in nuclear quality assurance with hands-on auditing to 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21 and NQA-1.
• Current qualification as an NQA-1 Lead Auditor or eligible within 90 days with documented training, audits, and written exam per NQA-1 Part II Subpart 2.23.
• Ability to write audit reports and present findings to stakeholders, including NRC inspectors.

Responsibilities

• Plan and maintain the audit schedule for the nuclear QA program and internal/supplier audits.
• Lead audits end to end: notification, checklist, meetings, evidence, findings, report, and closure.
• Evaluate and audit suppliers of safety-related items and services; recommend additions/removals to the approved supplier list.
• Perform surveillances and classify findings; issue corrective action requests and verify effectiveness.
• Maintain lead-auditor and auditor qualification records and support external audits of our program.
