Job summary

Mission Technologies, a division of HII, seeks a Nuclear Propulsion Overhaul Engineering Technician 3 to support overhaul and modernization of nuclear propulsion systems. The role involves technical data analysis, documentation, and hands‑on waterfront tasks aboard ships, collaborating with engineers, trades, and Navy stakeholders.

The ideal candidate has DoD/USN experience, DOE navigation through naval programs, and the ability to obtain a Confidential Security Clearance.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or 2‑year technical degree in related discipline with 3 years DoD/USN experience
• High school diploma or equivalent with 5 years related experience
• Experience with Navy Work Authorization Forms and Tag Outs using eSOMS
• Ability to work in a shipboard environment
• U.S. citizen
• Ability to obtain a Confidential Security Clearance
• Proficient in interpreting technical specs, drawings, and work requirements

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to engineers and project teams on nuclear propulsion overhaul and modernization.
• Prepare engineering documentation, procedures, work instructions, drawings, and reports.
• Perform detailed calculations and analyze technical data.
• Offer waterfront and shop‑floor support, coordinating resolutions.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, QA, and customers to meet requirements and schedules.
• Identify and implement improvements to safety, quality, and efficiency.
