Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Project Manager to support mechanical and equipment-related projects at a commercial nuclear facility in North Carolina. You will manage scope, schedules, budgets, contracts, and vendor relationships while coordinating with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams.

Ideal candidates bring 3–5+ years of nuclear project experience, with strong skills in reading mechanical drawings, contractor oversight, and stakeholder management.

Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of project management experience in a commercial nuclear power plant.
  • Experience managing mechanical projects involving pumps, heat exchangers, valves, or similar equipment.
  • Contract management experience, including vendor negotiations and oversight of multiple contractors.
  • Experience managing project schedules, budgets, and project costs.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and contracts for mechanical and equipment-related initiatives.
  • Coordinate with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to align objectives.
  • Oversee vendor relationships and multiple contractor performances.
  • Track project costs and timelines; identify and mitigate risks.
  • Ensure compliance with nuclear safety and project governance requirements.

Job description

  • Seeking a Project Manager to support mechanical and equipment-related projects at a commercial nuclear facility. Projects will primarily involve systems such as pumps, heat exchangers, valves, and other plant equipment, with additional exposure to larger nuclear initiatives including equipment replacements, reactor vessel work, and thermal sleeve projects. This individual will manage project scope, schedules, budgets, contracts, and vendor relationships while coordinating with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams.
Must-Haves
  • 3–5+ years of project management experience in a commercial nuclear power plant
  • Experience managing mechanical projects involving pumps, heat exchangers, valves, or similar equipment
  • Contract management experience, including vendor negotiations and oversight of multiple contractors
  • Experience managing project schedules, budgets, and project costs
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Plusses
  • Experience supporting reactor vessel, thermal sleeve, or other nuclear system projects
  • PMP certification
  • Navy nuclear background combined with project management experience in power generation, utilities, transmission, or a similar industry
