Job summary

Duke Energy seeks experienced Probabilistic Risk Assessment Engineers at Engineer III or Senior Engineer levels to maintain PRA models and support risk-informed applications. The role involves working with fault trees, data analysis, HRA, MAAP, and other tools across multiple nuclear sites with hybrid onsite/remote options.

Ideal candidates have nuclear plant experience, strong communication, and the ability to manage complex studies with limited supervision, while contributing to Duke’s safety

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering from ABET-accredited program and four+ years engineering experience
• Master's degree in engineering considered in lieu of BS
• Professional Engineer licensure a plus (state registration)

Responsibilities

• Provide risk assessment engineering expertise for problems of increasing scope
• Plan, organize, estimate, schedule and monitor activities with supervision
• Prepare technical reports, calculations and sketches
• Conduct studies and manage non-routine risk assessment projects
• Develop relationships to coordinate work activities
• Demonstrate strong oral and written communication
• Maintain accurate records and support company goals
