Job summary

Xcel Energy in Minnesota invites applications for a summer internship at the Monticello Nuclear plant to support a mechanical maintenance team of 30 people and help with work package readiness, closeout, and expense tracking. The role includes learning how work management and maintenance are coordinated at a major generating station.

You must be a current student (Freshman or higher) pursuing a degree in Business or electrical power generation, able to work full-time in summer and part-time

Qualifications

• Current student, Freshman or higher.
• Enrolled in an accredited college pursuing a degree in Business or electrical power generation.
• Work will occur at the Monticello Nuclear plant.
• Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours a week) / part time during the school year (up to 20 hours a week) and commuting to the designated work location in-person, per our hybrid work policy.
• Nuclear screening and FFD/AA approval for unescorted access (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Work package readiness
• Work completing closeout
• Maintaining expense reports
• Learn how work management and maintenance at a major generating station is coordinated
• Help coordinate meeting agendas and scheduling
