Job summary

Southern Nuclear's Plant Farley in Columbia, Alabama, is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to become a subject-matter expert in programmatic and technical aspects of nuclear fire protection design.

You will ensure code compliance, support NRC inspections, manage PM tasks, review design changes, and provide training and surveillance support for fire protection systems at the facility.

Qualifications

• Four or more years of fire protection engineering experience preferred.
• Nuclear power plant experience preferred.
• SFPE membership is highly desired.
• Participation in NEI, EPRI, NFPA is desired.

Responsibilities

• Provide code and program expertise; ensure compliance with codes, standards, and regulations.
• Prepare for NRC and INPO inspections and assessments.
• Monitor testing and performance of fire protection systems.
• Review design and field changes for accuracy and impact.
• Develop and improve preventive maintenance tasks based on actions and feedback.
