Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Fire Protection Engineering or engineering degree preferred.
  • A Professional Engineer (PE) license with four or more years of Fire Protection Engineering experience may be accepted in lieu of the degree.
  • Nuclear power plant experience is highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Provide code and program expertise; ensure compliance with codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Prepare for NRC and INPO inspections and assessments.
  • Monitor testing and performance of fire protection detection and suppression systems.
  • Review design and field changes for accuracy, program impact, and functional testing.
  • Develop and improve Preventive Maintenance tasks based on corrective actions and operating experience.
  • Provide technical support for surveillance testing, pre-plans, and impairment monitoring and reporting processes.
  • Ensure training and reference materials are provided to personnel; participate in fire drills and emergency response exercises.
  • Review, evaluate and respond to industry Operating Experience.
