Job summary

Vistra Nuclear Operations Company is seeking an Electrical/I&C Design Engineer for Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant in Glen Rose, Texas. You will provide engineering evaluations and documentation to support plant modifications, own changes, install, and closeout activities, and investigate emergent equipment failures with creative solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in Electrical and/or I&C systems is preferred.
• Digital experience is desired.
• Prior plant system engineering experience with electrical and I&C components is preferred.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a design qualified engineer in Electrical or I&C systems in support of plant design changes.
• Provide solutions for problem solving, decision making, troubleshooting.
• Prepare technical engineering products: reports, evaluations, and design changes to the plant.
• Develop investigations and corrective actions under the Corrective Action Program.
• Perform field walk-downs and interface with other groups to resolve issues.
• Review schedules and maintenance work orders to ensure efficient work implementation.
• Champion system design change improvements and enhancements.
• Pursue learning opportunities to understand technical policies and procedures.
• Develop effective working relationships across departments.
