Job description

Job Summary

As an Electrical/I&C Design Engineer at Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant, your role will be to provide engineering evaluations and documentation to support plant modifications and own plant changes, including installation and closeout activities. You will also investigate emergent equipment failures and provide creative solutions when applicable.

Key Accountabilities

• Serve as a design-qualified engineer in Electrical or I&C systems supporting plant design changes.
• Provide solutions for problem solving, decision making, and troubleshooting.
• Prepare technical engineering products: reports, evaluations, and design changes to the plant.
• Develop and complete investigations and corrective actions in accordance with the Corrective Action Program.
• Perform field walk-downs and interface with other groups to resolve emergent and routine plant issues.
• Review schedules and maintenance work orders to ensure efficient work implementation/scheduling.
• Champion system design change improvements and enhancements.
• Actively seek formal and informal learning opportunities to better understand technical policies, practices, and procedures.
• Develop effective working relationships with other departments and employees within your own work group to establish a professional network.

Education, Experience, and Skill Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Technical Engineering Field required; Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant job experience.
• Experience in Electrical and/or I&C systems is preferred; Digital Experience desired.
• Prior plant system engineering experience, including experience with electrical and I&C components, is preferred.
• Ability to work independently with little supervisory involvement.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent interpersonal, analytical, written, and oral communication skills.
• Ability to make formal technical presentations to various management levels.
