Job summary

Vistra Nuclear Operations in Perry, OH seeks an Electrical/I&C Systems Engineer to lead development of solutions for system issues and coordinate initiatives for plant operations and maintenance during outages and non-outages. This role emphasizes safety, rigorous design review, and cross‑functional collaboration across departments.

You will spearhead design changes, supervise vendor activities, and ensure compliance with NRC expectations while mentoring others and delivering precise engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required; Electrical Engineering preferred.
• Experience with electrical and/or I&C systems design at a nuclear facility preferred.
• Proven professional engineering experience; ability to lead with limited supervision.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with ETAP and MicroStation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain plant configuration control by advocating for the site’s Design Bases.
• Provide technical expertise for electrical plant equipment issues on problem solving and troubleshooting teams.
• Prepare plant improvement design modifications approved by the Plant Health Committee.
• Implement online and outage modifications with appropriate approvals and timing.
• Coordinate owner’s acceptance reviews of products developed by external consultants.
• Develop investigations and corrective actions under the Corrective Action Program.
• Support regulatory interactions including NRC inspections.
• Conduct field walk-downs and coordinate with other groups to resolve plant issues.
• Review schedules and work orders to ensure technical adequacy of legacy changes.
• Demonstrate commitment to safety across nuclear, industrial, and radiological domains.
