Job summary

Idaho National Laboratory's Materials and Fuels Complex in Idaho Falls is seeking a Nuclear Fuel Development Intern for Summer 2027. You will assist with hands-on research, materials characterization, and irradiation experiment assembly under supervision of engineers and scientists.

This onsite internship emphasizes teamwork, documentation, safety, and adherence to quality and conduct-of-operations requirements, with assignments aligned to education, interests, and program needs.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in a relevant field.
• Minimum overall 3.0 GPA.
• Export control requires US citizen or US Green Card.
• Submit current resume or CV.
• Include unofficial transcripts and current class schedule.

Responsibilities

• Assist with nuclear fuel development, materials characterization, and irradiation experiment assembly.
• Collaborate with engineers, scientists, technicians and other interns.
• Prepare engineering documentation and communicate results to project teams.
• Adhere to safety, quality, and conduct-of-operations requirements.
