Job summary

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking a Security Police Officer in Idaho Falls to protect program assets, personnel, and information. The role requires vigilance, adherence to DOE and FMP security orders, and the ability to screen personnel and vehicles per access procedures.

Essential duties include patrolling perimeters, responding to alarms, maintaining firearms qualification and fitness standards, and reporting incidents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; two years of college in criminal justice or related field preferred.
• Two years civilian law enforcement experience or military service required.
• Must meet DoE medical, psychological, and physical fitness standards.

Responsibilities

• Protect program assets by maintaining and safeguarding the facility perimeter.
• Comprehend and implement detailed procedures from General and Post Orders.
• Patrol and protect property by foot and/or vehicle to deter unauthorized activities.
• Provide security protection for facilities, classified material, and personnel to preclude unauthorized access or theft.
• Deter, detect and report suspected espionage or sabotage activities.
• Control ingress/egress into/from secured areas for personnel and vehicles.
• Perform escort duties as required.
• Deter, detect and report violations of security and safety policies.
