Job summary

Wellstar Health Systems is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform diagnostic imaging using nuclear medicine techniques in a fast-paced hospital setting. You will prepare patients, operate equipment, administer radiopharmaceuticals and ensure image quality while maintaining safety and comfort for diverse patient populations.

The role emphasizes precise procedures, team collaboration with radiologists and technologists, and adherence to Joint Commission and hospital policies.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine program.
• ARRT-N or CNMT certification required.
• Minimum 1 year of NM clinical experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and patient-care skills.

Responsibilities

• Verifies clinician order and prepares patient for the exam.
• Obtains patient history and assesses contraindications.
• Administers radiopharmaceuticals per protocol and safety standards.
• Operates nuclear medicine equipment and positions patient for imaging.
• Maintains patient privacy, dignity and comfort throughout the procedure.
• Sends studies to PACS and ensures proper documentation.
