Job Summary and Qualifications

Our Nuclear Medicine Technologists perform tests for diagnosis and medical research. They prepare and give small doses of radioactive drugs (radiopharmaceuticals) to patients, then use high-level imaging equipment to record images of the radioactive material in the body. They collaborate with doctors, medical physicists, nuclear pharmacists, nurses, and administrative staff to provide the best level of care. What you will do in this role:

• Complete nuclear medicine procedures including routine procedures and therapies.
• Participate in Performance Improvement and Quality Improvement activities.
• Work within established policies and procedures, complying with safety and infection control guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with JCAHO, state, or other regulatory or accreditation agencies in performing duties.

What qualifications you will need:

• Graduate from an accredited program in Radiologic Technology.
• Two-year program or four-year BA program in Radiology Technology followed by training from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Program.
• Certification (ARRT NM) or training from an accredited school in Nuclear Medicine.
• American Registry of Radiology Technology (ARRT NM) certification or eligibility with examination within 9 months of hire and/or certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTB).
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required within 30 days of start date.
• Minimum of one-year hospital department experience in Nuclear Medicine.
• Able to accurately complete sonography requisitions.
• Experience with Radiology filing systems.
• Able to operate nuclear medicine equipment safely and correctly.
• Effective communication skills with patients and medical staff.
• Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and maintain performance.
