Job summary

Medical City Heart and Spine Hospitals are seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technician to perform radiographic procedures under a Nuclear Medicine Physician. The role involves administering radiopharmaceuticals, operating Nuclear Medicine cameras, and ensuring radiation safety in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Candidates should have Texas licensure, ARRT/NM or NMTCB certification, BLS/ACLS credentials, and completion from an accredited Nuclear Medicine program.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of CAHEA accredited school of Nuclear Medicine preferred.
  • MTR State of Texas.
  • ARRT (NM) or NMTCB certification.
  • NMTCB PET certification preferred.
  • Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS provider.
  • ACLS provider required within 6 months of hire or transfer date.

Responsibilities

  • Under the guidance of a Nuclear Medicine Physician, the Nuclear Medicine/P.E.T Technologist accomplishes general radiographic procedures.
  • Performs at a technical level with independent judgment to apply isotopes for radiographic diagnosis.
  • Performs tests on in-patients and out-patients.
  • Utilizes Nuclear Medicine cameras and varied equipment.
  • Administers pharmaceuticals and radiopharmaceuticals as outlined in Nuclear Medicine Scope of Practice.
  • Demonstrates radiation safety practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education

CAHEA accredited school of Nuclear Medicine
MTR State of Texas
ARRT (NM) or NMTCB certification
NMTCB PET certification
BLS provider (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
ACLS provider (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
