Qualifications

• Completion of Nuclear Medicine Technology Program
• Registered by ARRT (N) or NMTCB (or registry eligible within 1 year)
• One year of direct patient care experience preferred
• BLS certification required

Responsibilities

• Prepares, administers and documents diagnostic doses of radiopharmaceuticals.
• Adheres to radiation safety practices in the department.
• Obtains medications/radiopharmaceuticals or contrast materials as directed.
• Records patient history and dose information for finished exams.
• Verifies patient identity and prepares for procedures.
• Explains procedures to patients and families.
• Performs organ concentration/excretion measurements for diagnostic info.
• Maintains ongoing self-study to stay current with radiopharmaceuticals.
