Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a part-time Nuclear Medicine Technologist for Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, IL. The role involves preparing radiopharmaceuticals, operating imaging systems, and ensuring ALARA safety standards.

Responsibilities include patient education, charting doses, and coordinating with physicians. Strong knowledge of radioactivity and venipuncture is required, with IEMA licensure preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited 4-year Bachelor Degree or a 2-year Nuclear Medicine program.
• IEMA Licensed Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
• Knowledge of nature of radioactivity and related safety rules.
• Ability to perform with direct supervision.
• Ability to operate radiation detection equipment with supervision.
• Ability to use computers to schedule patients and capture charges.
• Ability to perform direct IV venipuncture.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals per physician orders.
• Operate digital imaging systems to acquire diagnostic data.
• Maintain ALARA principles and radiation safety standards.
• Document procedures, doses, and patient history accurately.
• Educate patients and caregivers about procedures.
