Job summary

Advocate Health in Illinois is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join the busy Nuclear Medicine department. You will perform Planar and SPECT procedures, prepare radiopharmaceuticals, and ensure ALARA safety and patient care standards.

The role requires familiarity with gamma cameras (single/dual detector) and strong teamwork to support on-call and weekend coverage. 1 year experience preferred; IL license eligibility essential.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience preferred in Nuclear Medicine
• Graduate of an approved Nuclear Medicine Technology program
• Licensed by IL Department of Nuclear Safety

Responsibilities

• Respond to patient/physician requests
• Monitor supplies for department to assure continuity in patient care
• Participate in on-call and weekend coverage as necessary
• Perform Planar and SPECT Nuclear Medicine procedures utilizing single and dual detector Gamma cameras
• Carefully complete and obtain a thorough patient history and document requisition
• Prepare and formulate radiopharmaceuticals per department policy
• Administer radiopharmaceuticals and perform venipuncture as needed
• Maintain ALARA safety measures and accurate dose records
• Perform daily calibration and safety checks on equipment
• Maintain records for receipt, transfer and disposal of radioactive material
• Ensure safety standards and proper waste handling
