The Tibor Rubin VA Medical Center in Long Beach, CA is seeking to hire one (1) Nuclear Medicine Technologist (PET/CT).
This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT and will remain open until August 29, 2025. Qualified applicants will be considered and referred as vacancies become available. The initial cut-off date for referral of eligible applications is June 12, 2025, with subsequent cut-off dates on the 1st and 15th of each month.

Higher-level duties involve significant scope, complexity, and independence, including performing fusion imaging procedures such as PET/CT, SPECT/CT, and PET/MR.
Professional knowledge of nuclear medicine technology, including chemistry, physics, mathematics, and biomedical sciences. Responsibilities include functional studies, radionuclide injections, use of specialized equipment, radiation safety, radionuclide therapies, and database management.

The full performance level of this vacancy is GS-11.
This position involves long periods of walking, standing, stooping, sitting, bending, pulling, and pushing. Transferring patients and objects may be required. Exposure to infected patients, contaminated materials, and possibly combative patients is possible. The incumbent must be flexible, mature, and capable of working effectively in stressful situations and shifting priorities.
