Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technician to prepare, administer and document radiopharmaceutical doses under supervision in a hospital setting.

The role requires ARRT NM or NMTCB certification, BLS, and graduation from an accredited NM program; registry must be achieved within one year of hire. This position involves exposure to radiation in a high-responsibility clinical environment.

Qualifications

• ARRT NM certification or NMTCB registration is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
• New graduates must obtain registry within 1 year of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, administers and documents diagnostic doses of radiopharmaceuticals under supervision.
• Adheres to department radiation safety practices.
• Obtains medications/radiopharmaceuticals for administration by licensed practitioner or RN.
• Obtains brief patient history and records dose information, dates and views.
• Verifies patient identity and prepares patient for procedures.
• Explains procedures to patients and families.
• Performs organ concentration/excretion measurements to aid diagnosis.
• Maintains ongoing self-study to stay current with radiopharmaceutical techniques.
