Job summary

Baptist Health in Paducah, KY is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to oversee patient flow and coordinate exam assignments in a fast-paced imaging department. Tech level responsibilities include performing nuclear medicine procedures with minimal supervision and ensuring safety standards.

The incumbent will maintain records, obtain histories, communicate with radiologists, immobilize patients as needed, monitor during exams, and assist in invasive procedures.

Qualifications

• CNMT and/or ARRT(N) certification required.
• BLS certification required.
• Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy requirements must be met.

Responsibilities

• Maintains accurate records and documentation related to individual patient cases.
• Obtains patient histories and coordinates communication with radiologist and healthcare team.
• Provides patient immobilization as required and follows prescribed radiation safety standards.
• Continuously monitors patients throughout examinations.
• Assists the radiologist with examinations and invasive procedures as needed.
• Effectively utilizes EPIC for documentation and patient care activities.
• Assists in ensuring all completed studies are assigned to a radiologist by the end of the shift.

Schedule

• Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts
• Day shift
• Full-time: 40 hours per week
• Call rotation shared among 6 technologists
• Rotating start times: 6:30 a.m., 7:00 a.m., or 8:30 a.m.

Position Summary

Under the direction of the department supervisor, the Nuclear Medicine Technologist oversees the daily flow of patients through the department and coordinates daily exam assignments. Performs nuclear medicine procedures at a technical level requiring minimal supervision of technical details.

Performs a variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative in the application of prescribed ionizing radiation and other forms of energy. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as assigned.
